Think of all the local councils in the world, imagine if they all used something like [[LibreOffice]]. Some of their IT budget (i.e. public money) would go on using and improving [[libre software]]. Maybe they could work with local [[tech coops]] to work on the codebase. Money gets invested locally, code improvements can be used globally. That amount of distributed labour, the libre offerings would easily surpass the proprietary offerings.
Perhaps [[citizen participation platform]]s are a means to facilitate [[Libertarian municipalism]]. Insomuch as they support assemblies, debates, participatory budgeting, etc, at the municipal level.

[[Athens Research]] announces a $1.9M seed round:
We raised $1.9M to invest in our vision of building a second brain and a second internet using knowledge graphs and bidirectional links.
βSecond Internetβ and their open source roots is very interesting. [[WNDB]] can fit in as a backend layer on top of [[IPFS]]. [[IPLD]] should be referenced here too.
[[atJSON]] as interchange format is still interesting but sort of a different layer than the graph itself.
